According to the Census Bureau there are roughly 55 million Hispanics living in the United States, representing approximately 17% of the U.S. total population, with a purchasing power of 1.5 trillion dollars. With healthcare reform driven by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), more Hispanics are insured and many others have better coverage. Inevitably these numbers have caught the attention of healthcare companies and they are beginning to recognize the importance of engaging with Hispanic consumers.
Just over year and a half ago Eliza launched its employee wellness program – Walk the Talk. Yes, the name has a double meaning – the first is more obvious - walking…exercising…taking actions to be a healthier you. But it’s also so much more – we, at Eliza, wanted to follow in our own footsteps, set an example for others. In other words, we wanted to be sure to practice what we preach.
